Gutter Repair That Protects the Roofline

Sagging, leaking, or overflowing gutters can damage more than landscaping. Modern Day Roofing repairs gutter systems so water moves away from your roof, fascia, siding, and foundation.

Common Gutter Repairs

We inspect the full gutter run before recommending repairs. Sometimes one loose section is the issue; other times the system is undersized, pitched incorrectly, or pulling away from rotted fascia.

  • Re-securing sagging gutters
  • Fixing leaky seams and corners
  • Replacing damaged downspouts
  • Correcting pitch and drainage
  • Repairing sections damaged by limbs or storms

Repair vs. Replacement

If the gutter system is mostly sound, repair may be the best choice. If multiple runs are failing or the gutters are old and undersized, seamless replacement often makes more sense.

Roof and Fascia Check

Because gutter problems often hide wood damage, we also look at fascia, drip edge, and the roof edge while we are there.

Gutter Repair FAQs

How do I know if my gutters need repair?
Look for visible sagging, water overflowing during rain, puddles near your foundation, rust spots, separated seams, or paint peeling on your fascia boards. Any of these indicate gutter problems that should be addressed promptly.
Can damaged gutters affect my roof?
Absolutely. Clogged or damaged gutters cause water to back up under your roof edge, damaging fascia boards, soffit, and eventually the roof decking. Ice dams in winter are also caused by gutter problems. Healthy gutters are part of a healthy roof system.
Is it better to repair or replace gutters?
If damage is localized, one sagging section, a leaky seam, a loose downspout, repair is usually sufficient and costs $200-$500. If gutters are 15+ years old with widespread issues, replacement with seamless gutters is more cost-effective long-term.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
At minimum twice a year, spring and fall. Homes with overhanging trees should clean quarterly. Regular cleaning prevents clogs that cause water backup, which damages your roof edge, fascia, and foundation.
